Bangkok, 16 August 2011 - TIPREX 2011, the 3rd Thai International Plastics and Rubber Exhibition, opens in two weeks at world-class venue BITEC(Bangkok International Trade Exhibition Centre) on 31 August to 3 September.

Jointly organized by Thai Plastic Industries Association (TPIA), Plastic Industry Club of The Federation of Thai Industries (PIC), and Messe Düsseldorf Asia TIPREX is the leading exhibition for the plastics and rubber industries in Thailand and the region.

Managing Director of Messe Düsseldorf Asia Gernot Ringling indicated that TIPREX 2011 will open against the backdrop of a vibrant and fast expanding sector which in 2010 saw Thailand export more than US$2.37 billion in plastics to countries such as Japan, the United States, Australia and Indonesia.

“Thailand is indeed a global player in the plastic raw materials and products sectors, and exhibitions like TIPREX continue to play a significant role as a platform to develop, enhance and boost the plastics and rubber industries in Thailand in order to maintain its position and stay competitive in the global marketplace,” said Ringling.

“TIPREX 2011 coincides with a fast changing global economy that underscores the needs of plastics and rubber manufacturers from Thailand and ASEAN to further improve their productivity and competitiveness to better ensure their short-term and long-term growth,” he added.

“The ability to keep pace with the development of main industries such as automotive and electronics and electrical appliances are also crucial,” said Kositpaisal.

Also speaking at the press conference was Chairman of the Federation of Thai Industries Payungsak Chartsutipol who urged the plastics and rubber industries to explore diversifying their export markets into other countries in the region and other markets. "Exports of goods and plastics by Thai industries may be affected by the vulnerabilities of the US economy. Thai exporters will have to be careful in their management and risk management and should monitor foreign exchange transactions,” he said.

As the biggest edition yet, TIPREX 2011 will see more than 200 international exhibitors from some of the world’s leading plastics and rubber m achinery manufacturers. On show will be the latest equipment, machinery, cost-effective solutions and technological innovations for the plastics and rubber industries. More than 8,000 quality trade visitors from Thailand and the region are expected to benefit from the exhibition.

Key speaker at the press conference Khun Pradit Hiranpradit, Honorary President of the Thai Plastic Industries Association said: “With TIPREX 2011, the Thai plastic industry will have easy access to world class technology and innovations, as well as business and networking opportunities with local and international buyers and sellers.

Present at the press conference to share some of the latest technology to be displayed at TIPREX 2011 were Wittman Battenfeld GmbH, PTT Chemical Public Company Limited and SCG Chemica ls Co Ltd. Wittman Battenfeld will be unveiling two injection moulding machines from the company’s new PowerSeries and HM series, while PTT Chemicals will offer integrated solutions and business processes with their high quality polyethylene branded under the name of “InnoPlus”.

Manufacturer and supplier of petrochemical products, SCG Chemicals will showcase their innovative product range and services under their “human value marketing” concept which balances needs of businesses, community and the environment.
